NZ Synchro New Zealand Synchronised Swimming

Home

Synchronised swimming (also known as synchro) is a form of swimming that combines gymnastics, dance and swimming. Synchronised swimmers can perform solo or in a duet trio or full team.

A synchronised swimmer schedule is intense, involving weight training, swim workouts, land drills (drilling routines out of water) and dancegymnastics. The swimmer needs a high amount of strength and superb water skills along with a high endurance and flexibility.

The first NZ National Championship for synchronised swimming was held in 1979.
